The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a man accused of stealing a Mustang and other items from the Cape Fear Mini Storage in the area east of Fayetteville. The thefts, which occurred at the storage facility located on 5831 Clinton Road, have prompted a focused investigation by the local authorities.
The first incident, reported on November 18, involved the suspect arriving at the storage center in a dark Chevrolet Camaro. During this visit, he managed to pilfer several items from one of the storage units. However, the thief’s audacity didn’t stop there. On December 3, almost two weeks later, he made a bold return to the same location. This time, his target was significantly more substantial – a red 1987 Ford Mustang with a distinctive black hood, parked in a locked area.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has released three surveillance photos in an effort to identify the suspect. The images feature the dark Camaro, with one showing a man standing near the car at the facility’s gate. These visuals are crucial to the ongoing investigation, providing clear leads on the suspect’s identity and the vehicle used during the thefts.
Authorities are calling on the public for assistance.
