Schropp’s new supercharger kit boosts the world’s favorite muscle car to supercar horsepower levels.
German tuners are known for extracting incredible power from luxury sedans, sports cars, and SUVs, but muscle cars? That’s best left to the American tuners – until now. Schropp has introduced a new upgrade package for the previous-generation Mustang GT, which boosts power to a heady 700 horsepower.
The SF700 supercharger kit comprises a Roots-style supercharger, intercooler system, and engine tuning, which extracts nearly 700 hp from the 5.0-liter Coyote V8. That’s 200 hp more than the track-focused Mustang Dark Horse and nearly as much as the outgoing Shelby GT500 (760 hp). Unfortunately, the tuner hasn’t shared performance figures, but we’re guessing it’s considerably quicker than the average Mustang.
Sharpened-Up Handling
With all that extra power, we’re thankful that Schropp has tightened up the handling. For a start, the ‘Stang receives adjustable front/rear Eibach sway bars, a front strut tower brace, and a lowered ride height. The front sits one inch lower, while the rear is 0.8 inches closer to the ground.
There’s no mention of upgraded brakes, but the tuner has added sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rubber, measuring 265/35 and 285/35 at the front and rear, respectively. The new tires are wrapped around multi-spoke Cor.Speed Sports Deville Inox alloys finished in black. Aside from the wheels, there are few aesthetic enhancements, but they look good.
Minor Styling Updates Make A Big Difference
The front fascia receives a Performance Pack 2 front splitter, while the rear end wears a Schropp SF4 rear spoiler. The exterior badging has been matched to the rear panel and now sports a high-gloss black finish. The windows have also been tinted. Overall, it’s very subtle and will appeal to those who prefer a sleeper build.
According to Schropp’s website, the SF700 Compressor Kit is priced at €13,999 ($15,050), which is a lot of money. Then again, it’s much cheaper than forking out money for a new (and less powerful) Mustang Dark Horse. It’s worth noting that the kit is currently incompatible with US spec models, but hopefully, the tuner will soon cater to customers stateside. With 700 hp, few Mustangs can touch the SF700 in a straight line. But before owners get cocky, just remember, the 830 hp Shelby Mustang Super Snake will hit the streets soon.
