Owners can participate in cross-country drives, track experiences, and more.

Ford has now unveiled a slew of additional interesting experiences for 2024 Mustang owners, including lifestyle events, on-track driving classes, and a dedicated web site for Mustang drivers. To begin, Ford will organize a destination driving event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Performance Racing School. Owners of the Mustang EcoBoost and Mustang GT can compete in a variety of classes, including track driving, autocross, drifting, and even line-lock burnouts.

Those who enjoy taking their Mustangs on long road trips will appreciate the cross-country events held in 10 markets across the United States. This will let owners interact with fellow Mustang fans while participating in lifestyle and motorsport-themed activities. The Blue Oval will also introduce an online digital portal, giving Mustang owners a place to gather. They can interact, get advice, and discuss their favorite muscle cars here.

“Ford Mustang fans make this car what it is – a global icon for performance and excitement. And now, we’re giving owners a chance to connect regardless of distance and share their passion,” said Mustang Brand Manager Joe Bellino.

Owners of Mustang Dark Horses are not excluded from the festivities. The Mustang Dark Horse Track Attack, held at Charlotte Motor Speedway, is an exclusive event for owners of the most powerful 5.0-liter V8 production Mustang. The autocross, skid pan, and Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval will all receive “personal attention” from the owners. The scheme is free, and owners can sign up beginning in January 2024. However, transportation and housing are not included in the event.

So what can Dark Horse drivers expect?

Following an owner’s welcome, participants will be treated to classroom and on-track instruction. On the autocross and skid pad, Dark Horse drivers will be taught how to operate the no-lift shift mechanism and control the rear-wheel-drive behemoth. Later, drivers will be given three 20-minute sessions on the Charlotte Roval. Finally, they’ll be treated to a scorching lap behind the wheel of a professional wheelman.

The Dark Horse is not your average muscle car. Described as the most “track-capable” Mustang yet, it receives many upgrades that make it perfect for track duty. This includes an auxiliary engine oil cooler, a lightweight radiator, uprated cooling fans, heavy-duty front shocks, and Brembo six-piston brakes, among other things.

Ford introduced a similar concept for Bronco Raptor owners earlier this year. Owners of the range-topping model can hone their off-roading skills at the Bronco Off-Roadeo Raptor Experience in the Mojave Desert.
