Everybody Wants This Unmolested 1969 Mustang Mach 1, Battle Getting Fierce

To be honest, the ordinary Mustang is a really interesting model, but the one that has many people salivating is the Mach 1. According to the Marti report and the accompanying images, someone claims to have an unaltered Mach 1, and it appears to be a well-built project with clean metal and just minor metal issues.

The Mach 1 has neat, original quarters, sturdy frame rails, and attractive trunk pans—I hate to break it to you. Considering the age of the car, the solid condition is surprising, but the ad leaves out a lot of important information. Since it has a lot of missing parts, this Mach 1 has probably been donated to another project in the past. Since the Mach 1 hasn’t been tampered with yet, it’s difficult to determine if this is the case.

While the vehicle no longer has the carpet, the headline, the radiator, and other parts, the most disappointing part happens under the hood.

The Mach 1 used a 351 engine with a four-barrel carburetor, but the mill is no longer in the car. It’s unclear what happened with the original engine, but I supposed somebody installed the 351 and the original transmission on another Mach 1. You must find a period correct 351 to bring the car back to factory specifications, as this is the only way to retain the Mach 1’s magic.

Examining the door plate reveals that all Mach 1s are coded 63C, but the Marti report affirms that this is the model that all desire.

The car was painted silver jade and had a blacked-out hood treatment when it came off the manufacturing line, bearing the 63C designation on the door plate. It obviously no longer sparkles like a diamond because it needs the usual restoration work done to it, but it’s likely that the original paint still remains on the body.

According to the Marti report, Ford built approximately 6,700 Mustangs with the same pint code and 4,513 units with the same engine and transmission, thus this Mach 1 is not an uncommon vehicle.

However, finding a Mach 1 in such a great shape is rare, and it’s probably why so many people entered the battle to take the car home.

Meanwhile, if you live close, you still have enough time to see it in person. The car is parked in Tyler, Minnesota, so go see it and bring your trailer to take it home.
