1966 Chevelle Bought From Original Owner With 33K Miles Becomes The Ultimate Show Car

Low-mile Chevelles are the best Chevelles, but someone pushed this concept to a whole new dimension by turning a rare six-cylinder model into the ultimate head-turning machine. eBay seller davidbouvi explains that their custom Chevelle started its second life not long ago when they decided to purchase the Malibu from the original female owner. The car came with all-original sheet metal and zero rust, so it was the perfect candidate for a show car.

The six-cylinder engine under the hood would have made many people walk away, but the low mileage made the Chevrolet Chevelle just as compelling as an SS 396. The odometer read just 33,000 miles (approximately 53,000 km), and the same reading is still on the clock today. The new owner customized the Chevelle not only to attend car shows and win prestigious prizes but also to be street-legal. It sports a flawless custom paint, and I’m pretty sure the Chevelle is even more impressive in person.

The vehicle runs on a 540 Merlin Block and features a reverse rotation F-1X Pro charger. The owner installed a 2-speed PowerGlide Dedenbear case, TRZ front and rear suspension, a full Sportsman cage certified until 2023, and a 4″ custom exhaust that you can see under the rear bumper. Amazingly, the Chevelle still has the stock firewall, floors, and trunk, which makes perfect sense, considering the car was purchased from the original owner without rust problems.

The massive customization happens inside, outside, and under the hood, but the engine is undoubtedly the piece de resistance. While the car is a great custom build, I’m more impressed with how this Chevelle started its life as a six-cylinder model and evolved to become the monster you can see in these photos. It won’t take long until the car finds a new owner, though I believe the selling price could make some people walk away.

Custom cars don’t sell that fast, regardless of how many prizes they win, primarily because those in this business typically want to bring their touch to their builds. As a result, a custom build is unique and typically belongs to one individual, aligning with their preferences and expectations. However, the seller believes that $100,000 is a fair price for this amazing Chevelle, but time will tell if they find a new owner for the car.

The listing is set to expire in approximately 29 days. You can see the Chevelle in person in Smithfield, Rhode Island. The car runs on 93 Octane, and given it’s a street-legal model, you should be able to take it for a spin if you want. Sure enough, its place is in a garage, so you should bring a trailer to avoid adding more miles to the clock.
